EGOtalk: A little Party Never Killed Nobody!

Hi Egos, it's been a crazy weekend and I wasn't able to do an EGOutfit yesterday but I will do two this week instead =)

But let's get back to today's topic! I want to share my recent parties with you! I was on corporate parties and gatherings, private parties, threw some parties and went dancing a lot! It's like these last two years I've been too calm and now my body tells me to party twice as much!

Yes this is me. My sister was feeling experimental :D

Zumba = Torture?!

Hi Egos, as you might remember I'm still working out. I always make sure to go 3 times a week to the gym. Going for 6 months makes the work out part of a routine which is good because it shows how much I've achieved a healthier lifestyle. However it also means that cardio and weights are sometimes not really tempting. Sometimes cardio seems to never end...

Cheating on SAMSUNG!

Hi Egos, my nerd heart has been on cloud 9 these last couple of days as Berlin is hosting the IFA. The IFA is a place for major and minor electronic companies to showcase their new products. It's the perfect opportunity for regular people such as me to get a glimpse of what a lot of cash could get you :D

EGOutfit: The "A Hot Mess" - Look!

Hi Egos, as you all know I've been sick for a couple of days already. The first two days are usually spent with self-pity but then I'm back in the game and plan for things I want to do as soon as I'm better.

I bought new make up, a bag that I will share later with you and printed shorts (very clever considering that summer has come to an end already... :D). As soon as I got it I had to put on some make up and the shorts. In addition to my condition I call this look "A Hot Mess".

The flower print trend has finally gotten to me :D

Crazy Birthday Recap

Hi Egos, as promised in my last post I shall now share all the things that have been going on in the past three days.

What do you think of the blond me? We had our birthday guests put on this wig and take a photo :D The results are quite hilarious!

So Friday was my actual birthday. I went to work because I didn't see a point in not going. Fridays are usually shorter than other workdays. So that was fine. I prepared my grandmother's coconut-honey-cake. (I could do a tutorial on that one if you like :D) and my colleagues went crazy over it! They litterally threatened to take my life if I didn't hand over the recipe.

Crashing a Corporate Party

Hi Egos, summer seems to be the busiest season of the year when in fact it should be filled with lazy days at the beach.
Lounging on top of the world!
However my energy is strong enough to keep up with all kinds of events. My company is in it's annual time of change. A lot of people quit (you can only quit every 3 months) and in fall there'll be even more people who join the company. Those who leave all have their own way of saying goodbye.

The Reason Why I Had to Shower 3 Times to be Completely Clean!

Hi Egos, if you thought I was mud wrestling you're not too far off! However I'm not that into wrestling and am more a party girl.

Oh yes! In case you haven't noticed I like to party and as wildly as possible. I'm still looking for a couple more party people to dance the night away. (Please send your applications here xD)

Anyways this season seems to be filled with a new festival trend. Have you ever heard of Holi One festivals? There have been so many of them all over the country and especially here in Berlin. They're originally from India and look a little like this if well done:

EGOtorial: Recreating Magic Hair - Backwards!

Hi Egos! I recently got my hair and make-up done for a project that I might be able to share later on. Both were so amazing that I took as many photos as possible in order to recreate the looks later.

I haven't really tried that many hair styles but I've been very interested in all kinds of hair styles that I want to try and probable will. I'm so bad at braiding though that I definitely need to practice some more before I can share it with you :D

But let's get to the hairy part!

The hair dresser did this incredible bun! Can you believe it? Might be pretty easy for you but to me this seems like magic!

So how did she do that? I very slowly untangled my hair and took photos in the process to show you the principle she worked with.

My New Apartment: Getting Inspired Everywhere!

Hi Egos, In three weeks we'll be moving to our new place. Can you believe it? Time sure as Ego flies by....

Anyways as D-day comes closer my mind thinks of all sorts of interior designs I could do in the new apartment. Since there already is a lot of designing done (colourwise and furniturewise) I can only do small things. I don't want to change that much but I do want the place to look like me. Therefore I need to add some Ego there!
Uhu... This is totally affordable in my situation... Not! :D Would suit my Ego though ;-)

It's Your Own Fault That I'm stealing Your Treasures, Grandma!

Hi Egos, today I shall talk about a darker side of mine. It's a part of me that I've been nourishing for quite some time now. I'm talking about my tendency to rip my grandmother off her jewelry, bags and hats every time I visit her place :D

She embellished this hat herself! Such a lovely idea if you ask me!

This really has become a serious problem! She has so many different things in addition to a talent for handicraft. Seriously she can do all kinds of things with sewing machines, wool and stuff like that. On top of that she's lived a long time in Sweden where they have so many flea markets that you can't even escape them.

So I was at her place this past weekend and took a few photos to show you guys why I feel the urge to steal her things :D

This ring is so cool! And yes I got my leopard-PJs ready! :-D

One day that watch is gonna be mine!

Well I wouldn't say no if she gave me this lamp too! :D

Funny Owl...

You know the hat already but here it is in more detail!

Is it really stealing if it stays in the family? I don't think so but if it is: It really isn't my fault. Apparently a love for pretty things runs in my family :D That's why I made these bracelets by the end of the weekend :D

Let me know if you would like to see some more of the stuff that I made :D

EGOutfit: Stylish and Appropriate for Drinking Games in the Park!

Hi Egos, another very relevant EGOutfit for you guys! As we all can agree now: Summer is approaching. That means that most of the time we'll be chillin' in the park with our folks and every now and then those meetings might be dominated by alcohol and when I say alcohol I mean drinking games. :D

These last two Mondays I met up with some Canadian folks and they taught me the incredible game Beer Dart. The goal is to shoot the other person's beer can with a dart so that the other person has to drink their beer in one looooooooong sip :D Since I'm a natural I beat everyone and didn't have more than a sip of beer. However you never know how long that winning streak is going to last or what kind of opponent you get. So in that case be prepared for everything and dress appropriately so that you won't have to regret your behaviour when you see the photos later on :D

Here's the look:

So what should you think of when dressing for these events?

First of all don't wear a skirt. I've been there... That's not very funny anymore but rather quite embarassing... Putting on a pair of leggings is a  far better option. =)

Also you want to wear things that in no circumstances expose anything you don't want others to see but are still quite fashionable. That's why I put on that H&M mini dress. It has these tribal prints which is still hot right now.

I paired it with a belt which has two functions: First of all it looks cool and accentuates your waist and secondly it keeps you from overeating because the belt will feel pretty tight after 2-3 beers, chips and some other snacks. :D

Next up: Shoes! We all love our heels and boots but for this occasion you might want to wear cheap ones that won't fall off but can also get dirty and damaged. I got these for 3 bucks at Primark.

I love how my sister's foot is trolling the photo! :D

Another important part are accessories. You shouldn't have to go out without them but as you did with the shoes think about their value and how bad it would be if you lost them. We all got some cheap bling bling! I'm sure of that!

Lastly make up! Please use sun protection! That's so important. The rest of your makeup should be very simple and minimalistic. Unless you want to have black panda eyes and smeared lipstick :D

Alright folks! I hope you're now prepared for all of these incredible summer events outside!

Girls' Night Out - The Bars' Red Night!

Hi Egos! Spring has finally decided to grace us with some warmth and there are a lot of outdoor activites planned for the next couple of months!

First on the list was Die Rote Nacht der Bars ( The Bars' Red Night) in Berlin. The main goal of that event was to promote Campari's liquor and try out some new cocktail creations that might dominate this summer. There are 3 cities and 60 Bars participating in this tour. First was Berlin and of course I right in the middle of it. :D

Beforehand I chose 2 bars that I wanted to go to and 1 club. In the end we stayed in the first bar because the programme was too amazing! First they had an incredible DJ, then there were free drinks (their quality was pretty good as well) and then there was a violinist. The atmosphere was really great and the audience quite international.

These look amazing don't they?!
There was a promoter running around the bar, telling everyone about the Bars' Red Night and handing out these little bracelets so that we could use the shuffle bus that would take us from one participating bar to another. Unfortunately we didn't get to ride in one but we got this free polaroid photo.

By the way I love the troll in the back :D
Later we met up with a few girls and danced the night away to some pretty heavy hip hop/r'n'b! It was super fun and I'm so glad that Im living in a city that constantly offers these kinds of events! This summer is going to be sooooo much better than last year :D

Suit & the City!

Hi Egos! Sunday I left Berlin to go on a business trip to Frankfurt. These past 3 days have been exciting, horrifying and pretty amazing.

I have to share my experiences with you guys because they are just incredible! First things first: My journey. Let me tell you one thing about going by train. Each and every stop is like the lottery if there is an empty seat next to you. During the first 3 hours I was able to relax taking up as much space as I wanted.

However it just so happened that the next stop brought an old man who felt provoked enough to sit next to me. I'm usually very kind to old people if they are related/acquainted to me or if they are friendly. But a lot of old people feel as if younger people are trying to harm them and are in an aggressive state at all times. That dude really got on my nerves...

Once we arrived at Frankfurt all of that was forgotten and with tiny baby steps we very slowly went in the direction of our hotel - remember that we all packed too much stuff :D Turns out that our neighborhood wasn't the safest place to stay either... At first we didn't notice but I'm pretty sure that we are living in the main area of the Mafia or something... There are some really weird dudes hanging around outside; plus the red light district is just around the corner. o.O
I saw a lot of funny and weird stores :D
Anyways all that stuff just means that we have to be careful when we go out at night. During the day it's less dangerous. Since we came on a business trip I probably should talk a bit about work :D Frankfurt is where the headquarters of my company are. Last year they built a new building that was bigger, more modern and prettier than the former one. They did a really good job on that part. It's so huge that I feel disoriented at least once a day.

This is just the foyer. There are about 50 more floors on top of that...
And here's a little secret: I just love men in suits! There is something confident, smart and a little bit arrogant about them that I find super attractive. So Frankfurt is the ideal place if you're looking for that kind of guy. ;-) Also there are a lot of fancy cars on the street. Wouldn't mind taking a closer look at their owners. :-D

Alright that's it for now! I still have 3 more days left and in case the Mafia won't kidnap me I should be able to tell you more about it later! :D

EGOtalk: Expectation vs. Reality!

Hi Egos, the day before yesterday my sister and I went out. The plan was to attend a club opening where they were giving out grilled steaks and stuff. Afterwards we wanted to go to a club and dance away what we had eaten. We had a plan that promised a great night out. So we dolled up and were on our way to the first part of the evening.

As we reached the location we noticed that the lights were turned off. Apparently my dear sister had gotten the time wrong. So we were 2 hours early. -.-" We didn't want to go home again so we decided to go to a bar at least. I wasn't in the mood to experiment any further so we just went to a bar that I liked. It's actually more of a biker-scene-bar. The clientele is made of a lot of people wearing black and many guys with a ponytail (not really my type :D). It's the kind of people that don't care what you look like.

Source: openwall.com
I thought the night would now go in a direction that I could influence but I was wrong again. The last time I went to that bar was my first time trying this drink called Hugo. I bet a lot of you know that cocktail already since it was THE cocktail in 2011. It's made of champagne, elder syrup, mint and lime juice. It was so incredibly delicious that it soon became my second favourite drink. So what I was expecting was this:

Source: freixenet.de

Back then it even looked quite similar to this picture... But what I got instead was this:

Dear barkeeper, You shouldn't serve a wine glass with a straw for EGO's sake! The balance between those ingredients was totally wrong and my party mood was nowhere to be found. Defeated we went home that night. The only good part was that I met a guy from work and he had quite a funny story to tell about him being scouted for an escort service :D

On our way I really thought about expectations vs. reality. You'll never know for sure what is going to happen but to some degree you can get a pretty good picture of it. Normally my predictions turn out to be true but that night was just a disaster. I guess it just wasn't meant to be. Next time will be way better! I wouldn't be me if I let this one incident spoil all the fun I'm supposed to have. ;-)

EGOtalk: Eastern - an eggshaped reason for liking it!

Hi Egos! I'm back again with another EGOtalk. It's been a while, right? Well let's get down to business quickly.

As a lot of you might know eastern is right around the corner. If there is anybody who was able to miss this piece of information by now I shall take a sec to say that I'm impressed. :D Who could miss this holiday with the new pope stuff and the increase of coloured eggs in supermarkets...

Now I'm not exactly sure if that Bible story is true or not so when I talk about holidays such as           christmas, eastern and the likes you have to remember that I'm not part of any religion (unless Egoism is a religion? xD).  Therefore I choose to like certain holidays for very materialistic reasons. For example christmas is great because I get lots of presents or cash for having done nothing. Plus you get to eat a lot of interesting food which you normally don't get to eat if you're living alone.

So if I like eastern my reasons for that are similarly shallow :-D You get an extended weekend because each year it's always Friday and Monday. That's quite cool! Secondly I love this day because there is this one thing you can't buy during the rest of the year: Waffle Eggs!!!

It wasn't as easy I thought it would be to get them. I was even on the verge of hating Berlin for not having these BUT my quest was successful! These little eggs are filled with a white and a brown cream. Their taste is so unique that I would never be able to finish a whole pack of them without getting sick. Perfect right?

In each package the black ones are the minority which is exactly why I eat those first. After eating all the black ones it gets easier to eat the other eggs. :D

However eating my waffle eggs is the only tradition I keep on this day. Colouring eggs, hiding them and then looking for them is all part of my past now. I don't even feel motivated to participate in any other activities this year. So let's end this eastern talk :D

It's Time for my Silver Wedding!

Hi Egos! Today is a very special day for LoveYourEgo since this entry marks my 25th post. You could say that it's an anniversary.

This word however isn't pecise enough! I mean come on! How many anniversaries do we celebrate each year?! This one should have a more meaningful name. What would be more fitting than calling it a silver wedding?!

Now I think it's highly possible that I will marry more than once. So in preparation I researched this whole marriage business and think that I kind of married my EGO when I started this blog which basically means that I'm married to myself xD. I even got a wedding ring. Just kidding! This is just a photo of me trying on rings. Who of you hasn't done that once or twice in your life?

On this happy occasion I want to take some time and thank all of my readers who didn't just stay with me since day 1 but also increase over the last 2 months (can you believe it?!) Now I shall get back to relaxing and preparing for work tomorrow. I'll just quickly share this wedding cake photo that I found online and invite you to have an imaginary bite with me xD

Oh and I found these two while researching as well:
