EGOtalk: A little Party Never Killed Nobody!

Hi Egos, it's been a crazy weekend and I wasn't able to do an EGOutfit yesterday but I will do two this week instead =)

But let's get back to today's topic! I want to share my recent parties with you! I was on corporate parties and gatherings, private parties, threw some parties and went dancing a lot! It's like these last two years I've been too calm and now my body tells me to party twice as much!

Hi Egos, as you might remember I'm still working out. I always make sure to go 3 times a week to the gym. Going for 6 months makes the work out part of a routine which is good because it shows how much I've achieved a healthier lifestyle. However it also means that cardio and weights are sometimes not really tempting. Sometimes cardio seems to never end...

Late Nights in Berlin!

Hi Egos, I'm on vacation this week! I love the extra free time to hang out with friends and do all the things that I usually have to do after work. It's a bit more relaxing although one week isn't enough for me to really calm down.

Anyways I was out in my favourite bar keeping it non-alcoholic. I got to dress up a bit, drink delicious drinks and experiment with my new camera. =)

EGOtalk: How To Be An Exciting Person!

Hi Egos! It has been a long while since I've taught you something right? Hi Egos, my nerd heart has been on cloud 9 these last couple of days as Berlin is hosting the IFA. The IFA is a place for major and minor electronic companies to showcase their new products. It's the perfect opportunity for regular people such as me to get a glimpse of what a lot of cash could get you :D

 

EGOxperiment: Magnum First Kiss The Grand Finale!

Hi Egos, we made it! I was able to get that last Magnum First Kiss. After checking every supermarket and 7/11 I wasn't able to find it. In the end I stumbled upon it at the cinema. They were selling it as a movie snack.

But let's get to the foodporn part first! :D

EGOtalk: Things I want To Do NOW! - Part 1

Hi Egos, I guess it won't come as much of a surprise when I say that I'm incredibly impatient. If I don't know how and when I will get, do or make something I tend to do it immediately. Otherwise I'm afraid it will never be done.

 

I know that there are a LOT of people who make plans but never realize them. All talk but no action. I kind of dislike that character trait. However sometimes you can't do something because you don't have the right timing or simply not enough time.

EGOtalk: Throw Away the Ugly Past and Make Room for the Good Stuff!

Hi Egos! I've been very busy lately with all the unpacking and vacations We are very slowly making progress because there is just too much to do :D

Anyways out new apartment is a big upgrade to my sister's and my lives. It means more privacy for each of us. It feels like we now have a grown up place that will allow us to live real adult lives (I sound so young even though I'm turning 22 in two weeks -.-") :D

However every new beginning also makes you leave the useless stuff behind. Going through my closet I found a couple of things that I shall finally get rid off. 

I thought these shoes were so fashionable but they're not comfortable and I haven't worn them more than once. So they will be kicked out!

EGOxperiment: Langnese Café Zero Cappuccino

Hi Egos! I'm back with another summer essential! We all love some ice cream but cold drinks are just as amazing during these hot days.

On a road trip to a lake a friend of mine bought a round of Langnese Café Zero Cappucinos for us girls. I don't really drink coffee but that was alright. For some reason coffee flavoured things are more delicious than actual coffee. :D

But let's take a look at this drink!

So this is an iced coffee drink with a cocoa topping, whipped cream, crushed ice and cappuccino.

EGOtalk: Expectation Vs. Reality - The Beach Edition!

Hi Egos! As you might have noticed by now I tend to expect certain things from people, things (here) and places. I think that having expectations isn't bad at all. To me it's an expression of confidence in yourself or something and an opportunity to grow should those expectations turn out wrong. 

I had to borrow this awesome dress because my pants were soaked!

So what triggered these deep thoughts of mine in the season of carefree vacations? Just that! My first trip that kicked off my vacation was not exactly what I had expected. The idea was to get in a car, drive to the Baltic sea, spend some quality time at the beach and head home in the evening. I've seen so many movies where people very spontaneously did these kinds of trips and had the mot amazing time! It seemed to be the perfect thing for young and cool people like us. ;-)

EGOutfit: Ruby and Bling for Those Windy Summer Days!

Hi Egos, summer has been very interesting but not exactly vacation-esque so far. I had to work every single day. T_T However not anymore! This weeks was my last week of work before my 14 days of awesome vacation!

Flexible and strong willed person that I am I was able to add some free time to my schedule before my vacation though! I love parks and chilling outside. So whenever I can fit in some quality time with mother nature - if you want to call the parks in Berlin that - I do something relaxing.

Like yesterday for instance. I hung out at one of the many awesome places in Berlin and used the opportunity for an outfit shoot. So let's talk clothes, shall we?

I love this ruby coloured dress/long shirt.. Tall girls like me can only wear it as a shirt though...

Crashing a Corporate Party

Hi Egos, summer seems to be the busiest season of the year when in fact it should be filled with lazy days at the beach.

Lounging on top of the world!

However my energy is strong enough to keep up with all kinds of events. My company is in it's annual time of change. A lot of people quit (you can only quit every 3 months) and in fall there'll be even more people who join the company. Those who leave all have their own way of saying goodbye.

The Reason Why I Had to Shower 3 Times to be Completely Clean!

Hi Egos, if you thought I was mud wrestling you're not too far off! However I'm not that into wrestling and am more a party girl. 

Oh yes! In case you haven't noticed I like to party and as wildly as possible. I'm still looking for a couple more party people to dance the night away. (Please send your applications here xD)

Anyways this season seems to be filled with a new festival trend. Have you ever heard of Holi One festivals? There have been so many of them all over the country and especially here in Berlin. They're originally from India and look a little like this if well done:

EGOtalk: Am I Becoming an Athletic Person?!

Hi Egos, as I mentioned before (here) the gym has been one of the few places I go to regularly - the others would be home and work :D

I've been hitting the gym for almost half a year now and since I've been working out earnestly there were bound to be reults. This is not supposed to be a bragging-post where I tell you how hard my abs have become. It's more of an objective analysis of my progress.

Legs

I tend to see results first on my legs which only makes sense considering how much cardio I do. I never use the cycling machine but always a crosstrainer or treadmill. So my legs have gotten slimmer and more muscular. I can jump and take stairs more easily. xD I think I need to watch out now because they might look like a man's legs otherwise!

GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGross! That's not girly.. :D

EGOutfit: Stylish and Appropriate for Drinking Games in the Park!

Hi Egos, another very relevant EGOutfit for you guys! As we all can agree now: Summer is approaching. That means that most of the time we'll be chillin' in the park with our folks and every now and then those meetings might be dominated by alcohol and when I say alcohol I mean drinking games. :D

These last two Mondays I met up with some Canadian folks and they taught me the incredible game Beer Dart. The goal is to shoot the other person's beer can with a dart so that the other person has to drink their beer in one looooooooong sip :D Since I'm a natural I beat everyone and didn't have more than a sip of beer. However you never know how long that winning streak is going to last or what kind of opponent you get. So in that case be prepared for everything and dress appropriately so that you won't have to regret your behaviour when you see the photos later on :D

So what should you think of when dressing for these events?

First of all don't wear a skirt. I've been there... That's not very funny anymore but rather quite embarassing... Putting on a pair of leggings is a  far better option. =)

Also you want to wear things that in no circumstances expose anything you don't want others to see but are still quite fashionable. That's why I put on that H&M mini dress. It has these tribal prints which is still hot right now.

I paired it with a belt which has two functions: First of all it looks cool and accentuates your waist and secondly it keeps you from overeating because the belt will feel pretty tight after 2-3 beers, chips and some other snacks. :D

Next up: Shoes! We all love our heels and boots but for this occasion you might want to wear cheap ones that won't fall off but can also get dirty and damaged. I got these for 3 bucks at Primark.

Another important part are accessories. You shouldn't have to go out without them but as you did with the shoes think about their value and how bad it would be if you lost them. We all got some cheap bling bling! I'm sure of that!

Lastly make up! Please use sun protection! That's so important. The rest of your makeup should be very simple and minimalistic. Unless you want to have black panda eyes and smeared lipstick :D

MY NEW APARTMENT: It Keeps Getting Better And Better!

Hi Egos! As you know I've finally found a new apartment for my sister and me! Last Tuesday we signed the rental agreement. So now nobody can take it away from us anymore! YES!

However that's by far not all. We still have many tasks ahead before we can start out new lives in our lovely new home. First on the list is getting to now the current tenant. I don't know about other countries but here in Germany everything needs to be settled in a formal agreement. After the rental agreement we still had to discuss the things that the current tenant would leave behind in the apartment, how much money they wanted for it and what they should repair before handing over the keys.

Luckily for us they were so sweet! Since we love everything about their flat and everything they wanted to leave with the apartment they agreed to all of our requests. That basically means that we could go in every room, point at an object and say "can we have that?" :-D

They said they just couldn't rip us off our money so they sold their stuff for 200 bucks less than what they originally wanted. Great deal, right?

Controllfreak that I am I immediately took pictures of all the things we agreed to keep and of course I'll now share with you the awesomness of what's going to be ours!

EGOxperiment: Magnum First Kiss

Hi Egos! I'm back in the name of Science! As a scientist you sometimes have to fully commit yourself to your project in order to get the best results. That means that might have to face horrible self-experiments! I'm now in that exact position!

I want to test these new Magnum ice cream bars to give you an accurate review! I know it's horrible right? How could I possibly convince myself to eat such a thing?

But seriously I'm such an ice cream addict. At some point I thought I should go to rehab but I didn't. :-D

So Magnum has created these new flavour combinations and at first I was pretty skeptical about them. How could you mix Creme Brulé and ice cream? It's interesting and I really love their marketing campaign but I still have some doubts left.

First on my list was the Loving Kiss. By that time I didn't know they had some kind of order. :D I like berríes and I like ice cream. So that one was kind of a nobrainer. The texture was really nice because first you bite into a chunk of berries and then you have a more balanced mix of ice cream vs. berries.

Caramel Chunk - oh yeah!!

Second was the First Kiss - the one I doubted most. I couldn't have been more wrong. If you like caramel flavour then this is the one you should choose! Again you had that caramel chunk that you bite in and then it's pure awesomeness!

Can you feel how cool this ice cream is? :D

I really wanted to wait for the other three editions but so far I couldn't find any of them in store. So I'm guessing that Magnum will sell the other ones at a later time.

Who's in the mood for some ice cream now? :D

Girls' Night Out - The Bars' Red Night!

Hi Egos! Spring has finally decided to grace us with some warmth and there are a lot of outdoor activites planned for the next couple of months!

First on the list was Die Rote Nacht der Bars ( The Bars' Red Night) in Berlin. The main goal of that event was to promote Campari's liquor and try out some new cocktail creations that might dominate this summer. There are 3 cities and 60 Bars participating in this tour. First was Berlin and of course I right in the middle of it. :D

Beforehand I chose 2 bars that I wanted to go to and 1 club. In the end we stayed in the first bar because the programme was too amazing! First they had an incredible DJ, then there were free drinks (their quality was pretty good as well) and then there was a violinist. The atmosphere was really great and the audience quite international.

There was a promoter running around the bar, telling everyone about the Bars' Red Night and handing out these little bracelets so that we could use the shuffle bus that would take us from one participating bar to another. Unfortunately we didn't get to ride in one but we got this free polaroid photo.

By the way I love the troll in the back :D

Later we met up with a few girls and danced the night away to some pretty heavy hip hop/r'n'b! It was super fun and I'm so glad that Im living in a city that constantly offers these kinds of events! This summer is going to be sooooo much better than last year :D
