EGOtalk: How To Be An Exciting Person!

Hi Egos! It has been a long while since I've taught you something right? Today I shall present you a tutorial that might add some spice to your current lifestyle :D Please don't mind my writing skills as there is a child  below my apartment that has been crying for days now and is giving it's grand finale this very moment - at least I hope that this will be the end... It's really annoying me... :-(

Anyways let's focus on ourselves and our EGO!

EGOtalk: Throw Away the Ugly Past and Make Room for the Good Stuff!

Hi Egos! I've been very busy lately with all the unpacking and vacations We are very slowly making progress because there is just too much to do :D

Anyways out new apartment is a big upgrade to my sister's and my lives. It means more privacy for each of us. It feels like we now have a grown up place that will allow us to live real adult lives (I sound so young even though I'm turning 22 in two weeks -.-") :D

However every new beginning also makes you leave the useless stuff behind. Going through my closet I found a couple of things that I shall finally get rid off. 

I thought these shoes were so fashionable but they're not comfortable and I haven't worn them more than once. So they will be kicked out!

EGOutfit: Everything That's Trendy in One Outfit - Challenge Accepted!

Hi Egos, were you already wondering why I haven't done an EGOutfit in such a long time? The answer is: I've been running around nacked.

Just kidding! EGOutfits are a lot of fun for me but so far I haven't found a cool setting for selcas or a photographer for outside shots. But that's all part of the past! My new apartment will have a special corner for LYE and a friend of mine whom I meet up with almost weekly might become a regular photographer. So things will change soon!

But let's talk clothes, right? If you're living in Berlin you can't help but notice how trends are changing and you'll see the top styles even before they're printed in magazines. So dressing up a bit to got to a small restaurant in on of the hippest places in town goes without saying. Besides I'd never leave an opportunity to show off unused. 

So after eating -yes it makes sense to stuff yourself and THEN do an outfit shooting afterwards... -.-" -  we did the first LYE outdoor shooting! I'm sooo excited about this!

It's a very casual outfit that still incorporates everything that's been so hyped. First up I borrowed the spiked hat from my sister. You know how I love everything spiked! 

The armcandy is a set that I just recently bought online (the person that invented online shopping should apologize to my bank account...) It's a very pastel pink with golden geometric forms. Both of which are a must-wear this season! Of course the black leather bag will never go out of style.

Can you be in love with the constant reminder of how little time you have? Obviously I can :-D There is something about valuable watches that just draws me in. Surprisingly enough this rosegold-grey colour goes with so many things I've got in my closet. So far I think it goes best with denim.

For those of you who follow me on Instagram these flats won't be news. For the rest: I've completely fallen for them! Once the sun comes out you should put on your favourite pair of ballerins. They've constantly been in style each year and are therefore a must-have in your shoe collection. I especially love the metallic grey/green/gold colour. I saw a video once on how to make your legs seem longer. The trick is to put on jeans and shoes that are the same colour. So I kept that in mind and put on these black jeans.

Lastly we got the denim shirt. I can't believe that there is still anybody left who hasn't noticed that denim shirts are almost as popular as the infamous denim jeans. However this shirt also has cut out sections on the shoulders which is something that has subtly entered the fashion world for quite a while. It's one of the quieter trends this season but still pretty popular.

EGOtalk: Let's Be More Gentle Because Gentlemen Still Exist!

Hi Egos, have you ever wondered about the old times? The golden twenties or the days when women were supposed to be taking care of the children and fixing dinner? I've been thinking about those times a lot especially since I've watched a couple of pretty good historical movies. We always want to learn from our mistakes to create a better future. But thinking back to how it was in those times I can't help feeling like a lot of good things were lost in the process.

Like manners for instance. I believe that 100 years ago people knew the rules of the etiquette guide back and forth. Men would hold doors open for women and women would think before the said something embarassing. Rudeness was not considered extremely cool and badass.

However being treated with respect and acting according to the occasion is something that I wish would have stayed in style. I seriously met a couple of men who held doors open for me and let me step in the elevator before them. My face looked a little something like this when they did that:

For I second I thought I was on hidden camera or something :-D I have to admit it feels pretty nice to be treated like a lady though. Does that mean that we have to go back to being fragil women who need men's protection and care? Yes, occasionally! We have to remind them of our needs and all the advantages of good behaviour. ;-)

So let's try to be more graceful in the future. However should you need to put your foot down to achieve your goal then you can easily switch strategies. :-D

EGOtalk: When your Grandma asks about your BOYFRIEND!

Hi Egos, I've got the perfect topic for another EGOtalk! As you all know everything that happens in my life or every thought that buggs me will be converted into a post here!

So this is what happened: I recently talked to my grandma (total surprise after reading the title, right?! :D) on the phone. We were talking about how things were and all. I'm so bad with keeping in touch via telephone. Most of the people I know from my hometown use social network sites. Even though my grandparents can easily write emails they still prefer an oral conversation. However I just tend to forget calling regularly. It's one of these things you should do right when you're thinking about them and not postpone it until later. The good thing about that is that there are a lot of things to share in the end.

Of course do I send my grandparents random pictures of mysellf and my sister :D

Anyways my grandma and I talked about work, health (she's reached that age where she can talk a lot about diseases) until the apparently most favourite question of all my relatives popped up: Cathy is there no young man in your life?

How I love that question... It's a good question however it's answer is very complexe. I'm a young person and our generations are quite a few years apart. There are bound to be some things that she did differently back in her time. I'm in no mood to talk about all the details why I'm not in a relationship right now. So I did what everyone would do in my position: Evade answering. :-D

I guess it won't work for mush longer since I'm getting to THAT age. You know that age when people start expecting you to have a "serious relationship" that lasts longer than 3 months. Well let's see what the next couple of months bring :-D Everything can change in an instant. However I can already picture our conversation once there really is a boyfriend to discuss. I guess  there will be a bunch of more things that I don't really want to talk about with her.

I'm so cool I have my ice cream to go in WINTER!

Hi Egos, it's time for some badass attitude show-off! I believe that if you want something you should go and get it. That's exactly what I did. I'm not the kind of girl that would sit around waiting for some guy to call or send a text. I won't ask if it's okay whether I do this or that. I'm also not one to mind temperatures which isn't really a good thing most of the time. :D

We all know very well that spring has been a disappointment. It's not warm, it's not sunny and that one week in March certainly was a punch in the face saying "This is what I could give you. But I'm not going to!" So taking a walk outside, having a picknick or walking down the road with an ice cream in your hand is not really a good idea. Doesn't mean I won't do it anyways :D

So here is what I did: I had an urge for some ice cream. There is this melon flavoured bar that I discovered last year and that's what I wanted. They didn't have it but all of my anticipation was too big to give up! So I went for the second best thing and tried something new. There was no label so I didn't know which flavour it was. It turned out to be something with coconut which was alright.

With my ice cream to go I left the store and proudly walked down the snowy path earning the incredulous stares from everyone that I passed by.

Do I care about those narrow-minded people? Uhm, I don't think so! It all comes down to taking what you want. I don't see anything wrong with that.

Wear it with Confidence!

I got this new blouse in the recent winter sale - The person that came up with 20% off of already reduced clothing should be named a genius!! Anyway this blouse seems plain at first glance but if you look closer you can see that the shoulders are embellished with studs and the buttons can only be closed until just above the cleavage. It's really comfortable and looks fashionable as well.

However there is one thing that no other accessory can give your: Confidence. This whole outfit is upgraded my ego. Imagine this picture with me self-consciously in the corner? Erase the picture in your mind quickly cause that is something you won't find on this blog! ;-)

I have bought other outfits too. I will show them off gradually :D
